This quality sharpening stone system consists of three man made oil stones mounted in a carousel for easy stone selection. The hard plastic case also acts as an oil reservoir permitting continuous submersion of the two stones not being used. This system keeps all of the stones clean and ready for use. Included in the system is a coarse Crystolon stone for rapid stock removal, re-shaping and restoring edges to badly dulled tools, a medium Crystolon for the first stage of sharpening which produces and average sharp edge and a fine India stone to hone to a sharper edge. The Crystolon stones are made from silicon carbide abrasives held in a bonding compound. These stones cut aggressively to produce the required edge quickly. The India stone is manufactured with aluminium oxide which is not as harsh as the silicon carbide but gives the tool a sharper, more precise, more durable edge. All three stones measure 8" x 2" x 1" and the kit comes complete with plastic case and oil. This kit is ideal for the smaller workshop or even as a system for sharpening kitchen knives.
